Products and Services

One of the fundamental objectives of BES’ commercial activity is to develop a specialised range of products and services adapted to our clients’ needs. Aware of the important role that the financial sector plays in sustainable development, the BES Group has created a specific range of innovative financial products and services which support environmental responsibility and financial inclusion.

  • 18.31 Account
This new account is aligned to BES’s sustainability policy, which is adopted across all business areas and focuses on the creation of innovative products with a positive input to the Bank’s development and that of the surrounding community.
Under a partnership with e)mission , a carbon management consultant, the carbon footprint of BES’s 18|31 account was measured in accordance with the PAS 2050, a method for assessing the carbon impact of goods and services.
Non avoidable carbon emissions are offset through the support provided to a project to replace the fuel used by ceramics industries in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Click here to know more about this project.
    BES 18.31 e)mission neutral account
The measuring and mitigation of carbon emissions in business activity are now used as performance indicator and commitment to corporate sustainability. In line with the environmental commitment of the BES Group, the new BES 18.31 Account involved a number of measures to reduce energy and materials consumption.
With the support of e)mission, we measured the estimated carbon footprint of the BES 18.31 account according to the PAS2050:2008 specification for the assessment of the life cycle greenhouse emissions of goods and services.
Each new account will have an estimated carbon impact of 1.6 kg CO2eq /year, corresponding to a 20% reduction in relation to a traditional account. Taking into consideration the measures adopted for this account and the estimated number of BES 18.31 accounts, approximately 28 tons of CO2eq 7year will be avoided. The account's using phase  accounts for nearly 91% of the total footprint. BES offset 147 tons of CO2eq – the estimated footprint of the BES 18.31 account in the first year. The BES 18.31 Account is thus e)mission neutral certified®.

This account has 8% (1M euros) revenue on total of Retail banking Service Accounts.
