Aware that stakeholders are an integral part of its activity, every two years BES consults its main stakeholders, namely clients, employees, suppliers, and Opinion Makers, among others, with the aim of analysing their perception of BES’ performance in sustainability.
Another consultation was held in 2011 based on its actions, namely: innovation and entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, biodiversity and climate change, responsible citizenship and involvement with stakeholders, as well as all of the other underlying topics.
Client satisfaction and ethics and responsibility in the relationship with the stakeholders are the priority topics for stakeholders.
Financial inclusion is the priority topics for Clients, Suppliers and for Opinion Makers, while eco-efficiency is not considered to be relevant except by Opinion Makers.
Most of the Organizations consulted, with the power to influence public opinion, know the BES Group’s strategic areas of investment in sustainability, and 15 of the Organizations consulted have an extremely positive assessment of BES’ sustainability performance, heralding the Institution’s proactive management of the relevant environmental, social and economic topics. Of the four NGOs that responded, three attribute a maximum evaluation regarding BES’ sustainability performance. 57% of the Organizations consulted positively assess the Bank’s management, stating that the Bank has a coherent response to the material topics of the sector.
